Dr Mark Denekamp

Mark has been involved in medical practices from 1982 beginning in General Practice and eventually deciding to pursue cosmetic medicine.

Born in Christchurch, but moving to Auckland at nine years of age, he has spent most of his life in New Zealand's biggest city.  Educated in Auckland Grammar School and then at Auckland University in the fifth year of the new medical school there, he did post graduate medical education in Auckland and Middlemore Hospitals with some time also at Waitakere Hospital.  After two years here he took a break overseas for seven months travelling though the USA and Europe, thinking about where he would like to spend his time medicine. Deciding on General Pracice, he did the training programme in this and began his first practice in Manurewa in 1982.  Having trained in Obstetrics as well, he did deliver babies as part of his family pactice.

After a number of years here he decided to take time out overseas for nine months, spending most of this time in Turkey.  This country has fascinated him from before he went to the many years since he has been there.

On return he established a solo General Practice from scratch, growing it into a large group practice in Howick in the large growth area there.  Again doing obstetrics as well, he found the changes implemented in the field affected his practice of it.  Like many other he ceased being involved in this.  Looking for some other special interest he came across non-surgical vein treatments.

Training in this he began treating his own patients and gradually expanded the work as he received much postive feedback from people he treated.  He also enjoyed doing it.

After a year or two he set up his own clinic specifically for this - Springdale Clinic - which has grown from there.  Other modalities were included in the non-surgical cosmetic field.  This has grown significantly and now includes a number of lasers.

Outside of this he loves travel, walking, gardening and reading extensively.
